Cabell Huntington Hospital recently received a $25,000 donation from Wells Fargo Insurance Services, Inc. to help fund a GE Healthcare OmniBed® being used in the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

“This donation provides another infant the opportunity for life, and it shows the compassion and caring spirit of the Wells Fargo Foundation,” said David Graley, vice president and chief operating officer of the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation. “We are grateful for this investment in specialty care for our children.”

The OmniBed provides "an unsurpassed healing environment for intensively ill infants," according to GE Healthcare. Because technology is used to constantly control the fragile environment for premature babies, each bed costs about $40,000.

“Since ground was broken for the hospital in the 1950s, our organization and staff have had a close relationship with Cabell Huntington,” said Rob Vass, managing senior vice president for Wells Fargo Insurance Services of WV, Inc. “When the opportunity arose to provide support for such a wonderful initiative in the pediatric services unit, we very much wanted to be part of the endeavor. A tour of the facility and the advancements being made were beyond anything we could have imagined. Thank you for letting us participate.”
