Natural Resource Partners L.P. (NRP) has donated $40,000 to the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital to help enhance the children's health services in the region.

“On behalf of our employees, Natural Resource Partners L.P. is proud to commit our support for the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital,” said Kevin J. Craig, vice president of business development for Natural Resource Partners L.P. “We look forward to the completion of this critical project, and we know that many children in West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio will benefit greatly from this wonderful facility. We believe our commitment to the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital will assist in providing quality care for many children and families in our communities.”

Natural Resource Partners L.P., which owns and leases coal, aggregate and oil and gas reserves across the United States, has its operational headquarters in Huntington.

“We are grateful for this generous donation from the employees and leadership at NRP,” said Kristi Arrowood, director of development for the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation. “Once again, we have received a tremendous commitment from a local business. Our community has enabled the Hoops Family Children's Hospital to become a reality through its continued outpouring of support. Businesses like NRP understand the importance of having a first-class, state-of-the-art children's hospital for the care and healing of children today and for generations to come.”

The Hoops Family Children’s Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital is undergoing a complete reconstruction of patient areas for general pediatrics and pediatric intensive care. The construction will take place in multiple phases, with the initial phase currently nearing completion. The first set of new rooms is scheduled to open next month. The campaign for the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital has surpassed its initial $12 million goal, but fundraising is ongoing to add services, programs and physicians.
