Billing Inquiries

Staff members from the Business Office and the Financial Counseling Office are on hand to address any concerns you may have. For questions about a bill from the Hoops Family Children's Hospital, Cabell Huntington Hospital, the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center, a CHH Family Medical Center or the Urgent Care Center, please call the Business Office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday at 1-888-638-8555 or 304-526-2175, or dial ext. 2175 from your bedside phone inside the hospital.

Financial Counseling & Charity Care

Financial counselors are here to discuss any financial concerns related to your hospital bills. Their offices are on the ground floor in the Registration area in the lobby, close to the hospital entrance.

Financial counselors are available weekdays from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. No appointment is necessary. To call the financial counselor from outside the hospital, dial 304-526-6099 or 304-526-6344. If you are currently a patient, you may simply dial ext. 6099 or 6344 from the bedside phone in your room.

To be eligible for uncompensated services, your family income must be at or below the following levels:

The Application Process

If you think you may be eligible for uncompensated services:

  • Please print and complete the application and return it to a Financial Counselor in Registration Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • The Financial Counselor will make a written determination of your eligibility for uncompensated care within two working days of your request.
  • So that determination may be made quickly, please be prepared to furnish documents verifying your income.
  • You may be asked to make an application for assistance (Medicare, Medicaid, Insurance etc.) for payment of your hospital charges.

Remember, your health and well-being are our primary concern. You will be registered and treated regardless of your ability to pay.
