Cabell Huntington Hospital was named a High Performing Maternity Hospital by US News and World Report in 2025.

Cabell Huntington Hospital was named one of America's Best Maternity Hospitals in 2025 by Newsweek and Statista.

Cabell Huntington Hospital was awarded a Top Hospital Award for C-Section Surgery by Castle Connolly in 2025.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit was awarded the Center of Excellence in Antibiotic Stewardship in Neonatal Care and the NICU Case of the Year Winner by the Vermont Oxford Network.

Cabell Huntington Hospital was granted the WVHA Hospital Quality Gold Honors and the Greatest Overall Total HOSPAC Award from the West Virginia Hospital Association for its commitment to quality. 

 

Accreditations

In conjunction with partner facilities on campus, the Hoops Family Children's Hospital has earned accreditations from the following organizations:

The Child Advocacy Center has received full accreditation from the National Children's Alliance, an accrediting agency for Children's Advocacy Centers across the country. 

Both the Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship and the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship - the first such program in West Virginia - are accredited by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

The Joint Commission (TJC) the nation's preeminent hospital accreditation body, is an independent, not-for-profit organization that evaluates and accredits more than 16,000 healthcare organizations and programs in the United States. TJC standards are regarded as the most rigorous in the industry to recognize the highest level of quality patient care.

The Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center, which houses our pediatric cancer program, is one of only 106 facilities in the nation to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. The Outstanding Achievement Award recognizes cancer programs that strive for excellence in providing quality care to patients.

The Children’s Hospital Association advances child health through innovations in the quality, cost and delivery of care. Representing more than 220 children’s hospitals, the Association is the voice of children’s hospitals nationally. The Association champions public policies that enable hospitals to better serve children and is the premier resource for pediatric data and analytics, driving improved clinical and operational performance of member hospitals.

The American Hospital Association (AHA) is an organization that promotes the quality provision of health care by hospitals and health care networks through such efforts as promoting effective public policy and providing information related to health care and health administration to health care providers and the public.
