Pediatrics Unit

Children are special, and so is the care and attention they need when they are ill and injured. The Pediatrics Unit is designed to meet those special needs through its medical and surgical care just for children. The unit has 25 beds and a specially trained staff. Pediatricians, specialists, and subspecialists work together to provide the best care possible for their patients in a warm, compassionate, family-centered environment.

Having a child in the hospital can be overwhelming, and the staff is dedicated to supporting families during this stressful time. The care provided is age-appropriate and sensitive to the special needs of our young patients, as well as adolescents.

Parents are welcome to stay with their child overnight and take an active role in all aspects of his or her care, including decision-making. Family-centered care helps the family understand more about the child’s condition and feel comfortable providing any necessary care at home after discharge.

Special attention is always given to the emotional and developmental needs of our young patients and their families. Whenever possible, special events are scheduled to relax and entertain children and their families.
