Birth Certificates

The birth certificates of all babies born at Cabell Huntington Hospital are on file at the:

WV Department of Health & Human Resources

Adults age 18 or over with a form of ID may request their own birth certificate or a birth certificate for a family member if they are related to the family member as follows:

  • Mother or Father
  • Son or Daughter
  • Husband or Wife
  • Mother-in-Law/Father-in-Law
  • Son-in-Law/Daughter-in-Law
  • Grandparents
  • Grandchildren
  • Stepmother/Stepfather
  • Stepchild

Please note: If the father's name is not shown on the birth certificate, he and/or his family cannot obtain a copy of the birth certificate without a court order or court-ordered paternity determination.
