A pediatric neurologist has special training and experience to treat children with disorders of the brain, spinal cord and nerves in the spine and extremities, such as seizures, delayed speech, weakness or headaches. Pediatric neurology encompasses disorders of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles. Patients vary from those with relatively straightforward conditions, such as epilepsy, cerebral palsy or migraine, to those with rare or complex conditions, such as metabolic or degenerative disorders.
